Income Tax Recreation Club (ITRC) was established in Chennai way back in the year 1952. Since its inception, it has been promoting talent among the employees and their family members of Income Tax Department in the fields of Sports and Culture, apart from providing recreation. It has been organising several events on special occasions like Tamil and English new year. ITRC has been celebrating festivals like Pongal and Chithirai Thiruvizha by inviting eminent speakers. It has Recreation Halls in almost all the office buildings with facilities like Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis etc.
ITRC has also been encouraging talented sports persons and artistes. As a result, the teams from Tamil Nadu State have won several prizes at the Zonal and National Level Sports and Cultural tournaments.
